Christopher Larkin - Hollow Knight Main Theme - Bass and Accordion Cover
I basically made this video on a whim to show off some new toys.
When I was first starting out as a bassist, I joined a band called "Gumbo Diablo" that played a combination of zydeco, cumbia, forro, and various other types of music. I had no idea what those words meant when I joined the band, I just needed a gig. Imagine my surprise when I walked into my audition and there were two accordion players. In my time with that band I went from knowing the accordion only through Weird Al to falling in love with the instrument. Now, 9 years later, I finally own one. So this is me trying it out for the first time in a performance.
I've also been on the hunt for reverb and delay pedals for my bass rig, and finally pulled the trigger on an Earthquaker Avalanche Run, and I cannot say enough good things about it. It just sounds amazing on everything and it is incredibly flexible. All of the reverb and delay you hear on the bass parts is from that pedal.
I've been playing through Hollow Knight as well, and I've had the music stuck in my head for months, so this just happened to be the piece I was humming this afternoon when I decided to make a video.
