5Recap: At Opassa beach, Crono, Lucca, and Marle are present, alongside a new temporal nexus. Lucca explains that the beginning of everything was when the Zeal Palace was collapsing around Schala, and she was sucked into a dimensional vortex alongside the Mammon Machine. Schala and Lavos merged together to become the Devourer of Time. As the two minds fought for control, Schala sent a child clone of herself to the future along with her pendant, which became Kid and the Astral Amulet. Crono reveals that Lynx is actually Wazuki, having been warped by contact with the Frozen Flame and taken over by FATE. Marle asks Serge to do what's necessary to save Schala and release her from her suffering.
Serge uses the time egg to travel to the darkness of time and fight the Time Devourer. Then everything falls apart.
