Recap: Halfway up Terra Tower, the party encounters a place that appears to be Prophet's room in Viper Manor. Prophet explains that he's actually Belthasar, the guru of reason from the Zeal kingdom. After he was thrown into the future by Lavos, his research led to the creation of Chronopolis, and to the Time Crash. He used a time machine named the Neo Epoch to travel to this age to learn of Chronopolis and FATE's plans. Terra Tower, previously known as Dinopolis, was pulled from the future of another dimension where Reptites had evolved more in tune with the planet than humans. Dinopolis was drawn in as a counterbalance against Chronopolis. After a battle, FATE sealed away Dinopolis long ago, alongside the dragon gods. Originally a single entity, FATE split the dragon gods up into six separate parts. There was a secret seventh dragon working to free the other six from FATE's seal, who Belthasar reveals to be Harle.

Belthasar impresses upon them the importance of their upcoming battle for the fate of the planet, and disappears. At the top of the tower, they encounter the true Frozen Flame, which has a violent reaction to being approached. The merged form of the 6 dragon gods arrives and puts up a ferocious fight. After the dragon is defeated, Belthasar shows up again and gives them a Time Egg, telling them it enables them to travel beyond space-time. The party makes a hasty escape on their flying boat as the tower falls and transforms into a new shape.
