The secret of the Miguel Challenge is Diminish. You see, Elements are supreme in terms of damage for the longest time. It goes against every learned instinct of CC's battle system to use Diminish, to weaken yourself and your best form of attack. But with Diminish, Miguel really isn't so tough, in the mod or in the normal game. I wanted to see if I could win with this handicap of no Diminish, to keep Miguel as the fearsome powerhouse that he's supposed to be.

The first thing is, with no Diminish and in this mod, you cannot survive Holy Dragon Sword. I'm positive of this. Since he pairs it with Weak Minded, he maximizes damage to his target while also destroying your Black field. So the key is to let him get off two uses of it and use up both your Revives but by this point you have to have done enough damage to force him into his second phase.

That Meteor Shower ruined a couple close calls. You really gotta try it a few times to get a "feel" for how close he is to his slump phase so you make sure everyone is topped off in health and the field is as Black as possible.

You cannot buy Traps in this mod but Holy Light Traps are a rare drop from the Dead Beat enemies in Home Isle of the Damned. I was blessed to get one just as I was leaving after Garai. The Dead Beats seem to show up after beating Garai and you'll encounter them if you fight one of the respawning WillO'Wisp enemies. That random bit of luck saved this challenge and made it possible.

My equipment was Mythril Mail on Lynx adn Norris and Mythril Vest on Janice and for Accessories:
