Although I haven't gotten the chance to sit down and play Chrono Trigger yet, its soundtrack has always stood out to me - Yasunori Mitsuda is an excellent composer and his melodies have always managed to move and inspire me. Clearly, Peaceful Days is no exception. I first discovered this tune through PPF's cover from 2017, and when I revisited it recently, I immediately thought to turn it into a cheesy 80s fusion ballad.

I took a lot of inspiration from bands like Casiopea and T-SQUARE in my arrangement and reharmonization of this song, particularly the former's "Twilight in Upper West", and experimented with synth sounds from the Yamaha DX7 and different forms of reverb, both of which were prominent in 80's production. I had a TON fun putting the video together too, using a lot of editing techniques to make it look like it came from an old VHS. Also dat bandana. I'm really happy with how this video turned out, and I hope you all can enjoy the result as much as I enjoyed making it!
