CiB Let's Try - Burning Road (PS1)
Burning Road was released in 1996 for the PS1, after being ported from the arcade game. It was developed by Toka, who only made a few games, almost exclusively for the PS1, including Hidden Invasion, and published by Playmates Interactive, which ported PowerSlave and, apparently, a few Earthworm Jim games.
I have to say, for a very early PS1 game that was ported from an arcade game, Burning Road plays very well. The gameplay is fluid, the controls are fine (if a tiny bit too slippery for an arcade game, though we're both pretty bad at racing games), and the announcer is hilarious.
They definitely sacrificed some visuals to make the game run more smoothly, and I appreciate that. All things considered, if you need an arcade-style racing game for PS1, you can do a lot worse than this! Thanks for watching.
