Cine lenses vs photo lenses: what’s the difference? (Cine vs non cine lens video lens vs photo lens)
Cine lenses, people talk about them a lot, but what are they and how do they compare to regular photo lenses were used to? That’s what we’re talking about today!
Cine lenses or just Video lenses are lenses made for filmmaking instead of photography, the optics can be the same but the main difference between the Cine lenses and their non cine counterparts is usually just longer focus throw, an aperture ring for smooth aperture changes and in the more expensive lenses, Anamorphic glass. Other than that they can be near identical, so are they a good buy or is it better to stay with photo lenses?
