cityglitch - (c6) overhere in 10/11 moves
cityglitch (PC(W,M,L)/Steam)
v1.5 (2018 Feb 23)
city 6: Moonport Alpha
level 6-5: overhere in 10/11 moves
Oh, a quick note about level numbers: The game doesn't actually number the levels, but to make it easier for me to keep my notes organized, I assigned each level a number based on city and unlock order (thus "3-7" would be the 7th level unlocked in city 3), so... that's where the level numbers I'm using come from. Anyway, on to...
cityglitch! ^_^
cityglitch is a cute, turn-based puzzle game about a witch purifying cities by lighting runes. Of the puzzle games I've encountered so far this year, it's definitely one of my favorites! ^_^ Like many puzzle games, cityglitch starts out pretty simple ("light all the runes to complete the level")... but soon becomes much more challenging. ^^; Especially if you're trying for the "mastery" goals!
To complete a level, it doesn't matter how many moves you use. However, if you complete a level using no more than a specified number of moves, the game will consider the level "mastered", and will mark it with blue (instead of orange (normal completion) or red (incomplete)) on the level select map.
Of course, while the early puzzles are pretty easy to master, some of the later puzzles... can be pretty tricky. In fact, at least one or two times, I found myself stuck on a puzzle for long enough that I started wondering if maybe the mastery number had somehow accidentally been set too low, or something. ^^;; But as it turns out, not only are all of the mastery numbers achievable... but some are actually beatable! =)
My first time through the game, I actually found 9 (out of 95) levels where it was possible to master the level with fewer moves than required... and after re-reviewing some of the previous levels, I actually found a 10th! =) These are just the ones I've found, though. "Under par" solutions are probably possible on some of the other levels as well. ^^
Interestingly, if you do find an "under par" solution, the game lowers the visible number to that number. So to see the original mastery numbers, you actually have to reset your save file... which is what I did for these recordings. ^^
Anyway...
This video shows a way to complete overhere (level 6-5) in 10/11 moves. And here's a text-based equivalent (01-25 numerical notation), for those who may want it:
