Using random civ. choices on immortal, standard fractal maps has landed us Pocatello of the Shoshone and I'm not disappointed.

Here's our chance to show off a powerful new Civ brought in with Brave New World. VERY powerful early game city boosts, though not finding any ruins could hurt it a bit. They also get a nice combat bonus when defending their homelands.

My initial plan was to use my jump-start civ bonuses for some early domination on my nearest neighbors but we met way too many other civs, so I turned around on that plan before it started and aimed for the diplo/science route instead. I didn't want to be labeled a warmonger by the entire game.
