Classic Game Room HD - SEGA SATURN MODEL 2 CONTROLLER
634Classic Game Room HD reviews the Sega Saturn Model 2 controller for the Sega Saturn video game console. Yes, there's a model 1 and a model 2 controller. Evidently the model 1 (which is larger) was made specifically for us "big boned", overweight Americans (but we have a great personality!). The model 2 controller was the original Japanese controller for the more compact citizens of Japan. At some point in mid-1996 (I think) they started shipping a slightly refined Sega Saturn with the Model 2 controller which is quite different from the Model 1, both in terms of size and D-pad and button layout. CGR prefers the model 2's D-pad but the Model 1's size. The Model 2 is awesome for SHMUP style shooting games like Darius Gaiden and Radiant Silvergun. It also performs very well for fighters like Virtua Fighter. So here it is, the model 2 controller for the awesome Sega Saturn game system. Classic Game Room is hype and reviews the best in new and old video games and equipment, joysticks, controllers and other nonsense for modern and retro gamers.
