New version of Classic REbirth, new feature incoming. This time it's audio that is getting reworked for good.

The original Resident Evil for PC uses DirectSound for playing and mixing audio, however what CAPCOM did was kind of a half-baked pie. There is no stereo sound, no spatial effects, no loop points for music, and no dynamic key allocation to use more than one sample of the same kind.

What I did here was a semi-complete rewrite of the sound engine. At the moment it uses XAudio2, which is Microsoft's current audio standard. The abstraction layer code has been reworked to take advantage of many XAudio2 features, one of them being customizable loop points for music. As you can hear in both instances of Yawn's theme, the tune loops at a specific point, instead of repeating from the start, resulting in an abrupt end and restart.

Still working on restoring stereo, spatial sound, and dynamic voice keying. Could take a few days to have a fully working emulator of the original sound engine. On a side note, I enabled a low pass filter on the original samples, but I'm not entirely sure if it makes a real difference.

Oh, another cool feature of the rewrite is that are no limitations on how big a decompressed sample can be (used to be 30 MB of raw PCM data) or OGG can finally work outside of mods.
