CLEVEDON SALTHOUSE FIELDS PARKRUN! A stunning parkrun located to the South-West alongside Clevedon seafront! This undulating, to flat parkrun utilises hardstanding tarmac paths and is a stunning parkrun with lots to do and see after the run! Join me as I provide an in-depth review of the Clevedon Salthouse Fields Parkrun experience.
A three lap route along the edge of the Salthouse Fields Park and along the seafront. All three laps are roughly the same. They go out towards the pier and back and then alongside the iconic marine lake. When the tide is too high to use the lake path, the upper promenade path is used instead. The paths are all tarmac. The route is virtually flat except for short slopes going up/down to the prom and also up/down to the marine lake. The route takes in views of the Severn estuary.
Unfortunately dogs are not allowed at this event as they are not allowed at the marine lake. However, buggies/prams are allowed at this parkrun and there are public toilets near to the start between the bandstand and the marine lake for 20p. As the route is all on hardstanding paths, road shoes are recommended. In terms of how busy the parkrun is, it has an average number of participants of around 373. At the start, around the corner, there is a bottleneck which slows you down and it does get very busy up and down the path which makes it difficult to overtake in places. With it being an undulating parkrun and very busy, it is unlikely you will get a PB, however, it is possible as my girlfriend did get a PB on the day!
The weather was great on the day, blue skies and the perfect temperature. The atmosphere was great, the run was stunning and there were some great volunteers to keep you going! This is the 44th parkrun I have recorded on the channel of which you can find a playlist of them below:
