Clock Tower Walkthrough / Blind Playthrough by AloversGaming
"Clock Tower", a 1995 survival horror game before "Survival Horror" was coined by Resident Evil. Clock Tower is a side scrolling, puzzle adventure starring Jennifer Simpson, a teenager tricked into believing she was to find a new home in a big beautiful mansion by her teacher; Mary Burrough's. As soon as Jennifer, Ann, Laura and Lotte arrive in the mansion, they are attacked by the Burrough family.
Jennifer finds herself searching the mansion alone for answers on who these Burroughs are and why they seek to harm innocent girls. Through learning the Burrough history with satanism, cultism and the worship of all these unclean and unjust, Jennifer must find justice and take down this evil family.
As Jennifer searches the mansion for clues and answers, she's hounded by the Scissorman. A mutant evil that chases the girls through the house and guts them open with his giant pair of Scissors. Simple name for a villain, but effective. Scissorman isn't one to be messed with. It's best to avoid combat in any given situation and instead try to escape or find a place to hide till the enemy has left the area.
Clock Tower has many different endings that will require the player to unlock in order to find the full story of what has happened at this mansion and whom the Burrough's truly are. As well as different endings, the game features an assortment of different shocks and scares. Clock Tower is RNG with each playthrough setup in a way to keep replay value at a high. With key items placed in new locations and frights coming from areas not seen in your original run, Clock Tower is a gem of a horror game worthy of your Survival Horror collection.
I found myself a huge fan of Clock Tower's art style for this original title, and loved the animation of the characters movement and form. It's change in the sequel isn't one i'm fond of, so the original Clock Tower will hold a place in my heart despite being a new game to my life.
Not an easy game to find these days, but worth your time seeking out. Short, creepy, fun story and a cool enemy; Clock Tower earned its place in gaming history.
