We got a CNC and learned how to use it! We made a wooden topographical state using Fusion 360 to convert CAD to CAM (we’ll go into what that means). 👇 materials & links below! 👇

MUSIC
Dog Walk - David Cutter Music - http://www.davidcuttermusic.co.uk

We love how this design turned out because it looks like the laser cut topographical states we've seen on Etsy, but it's one solid piece. This allowed us to get more detailed striations / layers. This was our first CNC project and it may have been an ambitious one since it involved Fusion360 and CAD to CAM processes, but since we had an autodesk expert with us we were able to tackle it.

This may not be a how to use a CNC guide, but we're hoping it's a nice bite sized introduction into some of the really cool stuff you can do with one. We do have a link above to a more detailed CAD to CAM tutorial and we go into the topographical state 3D model too, so hopefully if you're wanting to dive a little deeper that will help. We are excited to experiment with different woods and use the CNC to overall up our woodworking game, maybe even make furniture!
