999 crews fear for the worst after a 12-hour search for a sailor missing off the Brighton coast was called off.

Emergency crews were launched at about 11p on Sunday (November 9) after the man did not return home for his dinner.

Less than an hour later, his 70-foot sunseeker yacht drifted back into Brighton Marina with no one aboard.

Reports suggest the man was Leonard King, a 75-year-old businessman from Alfriston.

Latest TV's James Dunham spoke to coastguard officials about why the search was called off.
