There have been a lot of reboots and reimaginings of franchises over the past decade but the Netflix series Cobra Kai manages to look inward and achieve the perfect balance of cringe and nostalgia. In this video, Aaron Waller gives his thoughts on why Cobra Kai is so successful despite having some pretty cringe-worthy moments in its 4 seasons.

Cobra Kai takes place decades after their 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament bout in The Karate Kid and now middle-aged Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence find themselves martial-arts rivals once again. Cobra Kai is currently airing seasons 1-4 on Netflix.
