Ganyu is the first 5-star character I lucked into, and still my favorite.

The game feels like it wants you to play most archers primarily as short- to mid-range fighters, little different from melee fighters with a bit more reach. It's increasingly difficult to hit the further away you are (as it should be), but damage also plummets with distance, which... makes no sense? Particularly since the game outright has achievements for extreme-range precision shots? It's like, here, we're encouraging you to sharpen your aim and learn to compensate for gravity and enemy movement, now enjoy never being able to use that skill in practice.

And enemies going inactive and immediately resetting back to full health if not finished off quickly when they can't find their way to you just makes it worse. Why can't it at least be gradual healing when passive instead of all at once? Why must they give up on fighting back so easily? Heck, I've had issues with monsters giving up on a fight while I'm actively engaging them in melee combat! (Yes, they had strayed fairly far from their starting points, but more often than not, I was just passing through and they were the ones who attacked me in the first place!)

However, the extra AOE effect of Ganyu's Frostflake Arrows not only can hit even when your aim is a bit off, but still inflicts full damage regardless of range, and adds a crit rate boost on top of that. She's entirely capable of picking off weaker enemies from well beyond their awareness range, before they can cheat back their health. If you'd rather play an archer as a sniper (and I would!), Ganyu's got you covered. As far as I'm concerned, she's the only archer who's actually good at being *an archer*.
