Atari 8-bit: Star Trek: Strategic Operations Simulator

Star Trek for the Atari (based on the arcade game, which I didn't know about until looking it up, and the same goes for the full title) puts you in control of the Enterprise, thwarting Klingon attacks in a shooter that combines first- and third-person views with a screen split into three regions that have different purposes. The game intersperses meteor showers and Nomad encounters with the usual combat stages for an occasional change of pace to keep things from getting too repetitive.
It may not have any background music or be as visually impressive as Astro Chase, but it just feels better as a game, with more varied gameplay, a better sense of progression, and more feedback to the player's performance, like emphasizing the starbase bonus points at the end of each stage. I just wish it were a bit more Star Trek-ky, with some exploration and basic diplomacy and whatnot. It's fine as a simple space combat simulator, but that's all it is.
After doing some looking into it, I'm fairly certain that the other Star Trek game I refer to toward the end of the video is Star Trek: 25th Anniversary, which, as I mention, has both space combat sequences and adventure-game-style away team missions that play more like a King's Quest game (or perhaps Space Quest would be more appropriate).
