Trails of Cold Steel 4 is the fourth (and final?) entry in Nihon Falcom's Trails of Cold Steel series. Rean Schwarzer is missing, the world is on the verge of an apocalypse, and it is up to new and old Class VII to find Rean and put a stop to Osborne's machinations.
It took me 121 hours to finish Trails of Cold Steel 4 on PS5. I have a lot of thoughts on the game ranging from how everyone's arc ended, the return of certain characters, and some flaws that the arc has had overall. Join me as I dive deep into the spoiler zone for Trails of Cold Steel 4.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV is a 2018 role-playing video game developed by Nihon Falcom. The game is a part of the Trails series, itself a part of the larger The Legend of Heroes series, and is the sequel to Trails of Cold Steel III and the final entry of the Trails of Cold Steel arc.
Trails of Cold Steel IV was released for the PlayStation 4 in Japan in September 2018 and worldwide in October 2020, with ports for Nintendo Switch, Windows and Stadia released in April 2021. A PlayStation 5 port is scheduled for release in February 2024. A sequel, The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie, was released in 2020.
