Commodore 64 1541 Testing Chips From A Disk Drive Circuit Board That Fails To Work - Episode 2629
Putting a good chip set into what was a bad board...but will it still be bad, or will it work?
Trying again to test the Newtronics disk drive that I like...because I just do not want to give up on it...
More chip testing...and also, this is not a good hat when it comes to the microphone...that is the funny noises...that I wish I knew about before...sigh...
Time to put the chips from the defective board into a good working board and find out just how many of the integrated circuits are indeed bad...and just because the drive turns on OK, does not mean that all is well...there is often more detective work to do!
Time to explore this disk from Commodore to help diagnose this 1541 disk drive! But also, time to remove the socketed chips from a 1541 circuit board that is not working...I wonder how many of these chips have been corrupted?
Three 1541's...how many work? Excellent question...time to check them out and start swapping major components!
