Commodore 64 - Building a game in Turbo Rascal Syntax Error progress
This video shows the current state of my game that i started the last weekend of January.
Currently have the entity spawning/dying, weapons fire and collisions, gameflow loop (title, level screen, level parameters, repeat, Title/intermission bitmaps, some place holder game songs and an explosion effect done
The levels as shown here will Likely be vastly different other than the first level being easy
Next steps:
Player score
Player dying (yea i cant die yet, easier to test without dying)
Animated entities. I have a spinning asteroid entity already created they will have their own levels and also be obstacles in future scrolling levels
Scrolling levels. The levels shown in this clip are "respawn" style, which are kind of galaxian in style with respawning added in. I want to have the back half levels be a mix of asteroid dodging and classic arcade style SEUCK where the enemies flow at the player in waves.
A boss of some kind for the very end, this is only going to be a short 10 level game the entire point of it is just to get a grip on actually making a game. ill take some pieces of this engine and lessons learned to make an even better game
