IT is time to have a look, and then remove the circuit board from this 4016 upgraded to a 4032...you can not remove chips with a de-soldering iron while the board is in the case...at least I am not aware of any methods that would let you do that...it is not difficult...you just have to take your time and be patient when you come to the three little plastic legs...
