Complete in Cast Episode 30 – Game Review #8 – Batman Arkham City (Guest: Parker)
Welcome to Complete in Cast, the official podcast for Complete in Box Video games. In this episode, we move on to the critically-acclaimed Batman: Arkham City (PS4 HD remake).
Batman: Arkham City is everything you want in a sequel – it’s bigger, it has more to do, and, once again, it makes you feel like you actually are in the Batman universe. The gameplay is definitely fixed up compared to Asylum, with a larger variety of missions, and just being a little smoother in general. Although the story is good, we find it not to be quite as enthralling as the first one.
Arkham City is an open-world game, so we go into detail, discussing how open-world games change the way stories have to be told, as well as the obvious effects on gameplay. Overall, we both had a fantastic time on Arkham City, and would recommend it to almost anyone. It is definitely a high-water-mark for superhero video games.
We rate each game in six categories: Story, Gameplay, Sound, Graphics/Atmosphere, Fun Factor, and Replayability. Each category is graded out of 10, and an average of all six scores is the total score. To us, a 5 is average, whereas a 7 is a good experience, an 8 is great, etc.
Enjoy!
