In the presence of fluoride ion, \( \mathrm{Mn}^{2+} \) can be titrated with \( \mathrm{MnO}_{4}^{-} \), where both reactants being converted to a complex of Mn(III). A \( 0.458 \mathrm{~g} \) of sample containing \( \mathrm{Mn}_{3} \mathrm{O}_{4} \) was dissolved and all manganese was converted to \( \mathrm{Mn}^{2+} \). Titration in the presence of fluoride ion consumed \( 30.0 \mathrm{ml} \) of \( \mathrm{KMnO}_{4} \) that was \( 0.125 \mathrm{~N} \) against oxalate. \( (\mathrm{Mn}=55) \)
