I played the Concord Beta & I will give it to you straight. I am reviewing the Beta strictly as is. I don't get into the politics of the game, I am just judging it on how it looks, plays & feels.
It's not Terrible. The graphics are great, some of the characters look cool, I really like the look of the pink haired creature girl, she was cute & was fun to play. Others were very bizarre & off putting. The lizard guy... I can't stand him. They gave him 2 different personalities, a very "So Random LMAO" personality & then a very serious sentimental side. Choose 1 or the other. But most characters have the Random Millennial Cringe humor personality.
The characters were very imbalanced, like some are OP while others are going to kill your kill streaks if you die & can't chose a GOOD character.
This was a Beta & I have to say after playing many beta's pre or post public, the servers were up the entire time I played, which is more than I could say for other big games like Diablo 4 or First Descendant or even Anthem. This was a big win for the team.
Look, the game is designed for a certain audience, I am not the target audience, at all but listen, we have been complaining about The Them corrupting our franchises & ruining the games, well, this is a game for The Them. Who is The Them? The Woke. Now if this game fails (and I'm certain it will) it will not be because of us. If their target audience is not playing this game, it will go to prove that there is no "Modern Audience"
On the other hand, if they keep their cool & don't attack the gamers, they might end up getting people to play the game if they keep working on making the game better. The game is NOT terrible, take it from a guy that played the game & reviews things in a fair manner.
