When looking at the TAS, this glide intimidated many. However after playing around with it for a bit, I found a 100% consistent strat to make it without waiting on the platform cycle.

Turns out all you need to do is land on the side of the spikes to the left (which won't hurt you doing that), walk off and take the intentional hit, and abuse I-frames to perform the glide and sail right on to the end of the screen.
