Console Wars Book & CBS All Access Documentary Review!!
9Growing up, I was always a "Nintendo Kid." Until recently, I had always assumed that Nintendo was the best selling console, and that Genesis was the other, slightly inferior console. And boy, was I wrong.
I spent the last few months (I read slow, ok?!) reading Blake J. Harris's novel "Console Wars: Sega, Nintendo, and the Battle that Defined a Generation" on my Kindle. As dumb luck would have it, CBS just aired an hour and a half documentary "Console Wars" based on the book.
It's a fascinating view into the people and challenges that led to the battle between Nintendo, Genesis and (much later on) Sony. It's relevant in today's console wars, and I highly recommend both. Rather than do two separate videos, I've compared/contrasted both works here.
