Contra: Shattered Soldier Video Review
305Gaming Pastime reviews Contra: Shattered Soldier for the PlayStation 2. The first PS2 release in the Contra series that still retains the fast paced and action-packed side-scrolling shooter gameplay the series is known for.
Developed and published by Konami, Contra: Shattered Soldier was released for the PlayStation 2 in October, 2002 (NA). You play as Bill Rizer, the hero of the Alien Wars, who was imprisoned after supposedly killing his former partner, Lance Bean. It turns out that Lance is actually still alive and now leads the terrorist organization known as "Blood Falcon". The ruling government, referred to as the "Triumvirate", decides to release Bill Rizer in hopes he will take down the terrorist organization. The gameplay is brutally difficult, fun, and action-packed. You'll be running and gunning and shooting robotic and alien-like creatures while trying to stay alive from an onslaught of attacks. Nothing new for the Contra series.
