Special Thanks to CherriSummer for this recipe. Mentioned during one of our live streams, Carrot Hot Dogs are a Vegan alternative to the delicious beef product. Dubious, I decided to give Carrot Hot Dogs a chance to see if they can live up to the amazing standards regular hot dogs have.

How does it turn out?

Carrot Dogs

8 good sized carrots, peeled and trimmed to bun length
1 c. soy sauce or liquid aminos
2 tbsp liquid smoke
2 tbsp maple syrup or honey
2 tbsp ketchup
2 c. water
2 tbsp steak sauce/vegan worcestershire sauce

In a large pot, mox liquid ingredients, add carrots and bring to boil. Reduce to medium heat and simmer to fork tender, aprox 8 to 10 min depending on thickness of carrots.

Remove from heat and let sit for 15-20 min in cooking liquid. Remove and lightly pat with paper towel. Serves with desired toppings
