Cool Lens Flare Screen Sweep with DirectX 9 - Flight Simulator X
I loaded into the scenery at Misawa AB (RJSM), which is in the Aomori Prefecture in northern Honshu and I set the time to 5:45 AM local time in early October so that the sun is behind the aircraft. I then cycled between the Spot and Locked Spot views in the Outside View category as the camera transitions when switching between these viewpoints. I also had Light Bloom and Lens Flare enabled. Also, with the simulator set with DirectX 9, with Light Bloom enabled in the simulator settings, bright lights are rendered with diffraction spikes, which is no longer present in DirectX 10 and later.
