Okay, so I've been thinking about starting up Book of Shadows at the beginning of Chapter 5 again, however it had come to my attention that Corpse Party: Blood Covered actually was getting released for the iPhone and iPod Touch.
Before I begin an indepth explanation... this game costs $21.99 on the iTunes store, which in my honest opinion... is $2 more than it should be because it was $19.99 when it came out in the PSN store for PSP... so why did they have to boost the price of a game for iOS when people have already complained about pricey games in the past for their cellular devices? Either way, if you plan to pick it up... I suggest waiting until a sale hits the game, or at least until they lower their price (which I bet would happen during Halloween).
Moving on... this game is *optimized* for iPhone 5 and up (hence the bloody borders) however, it should work with iPhone 4 and 4S as long as it has firmware 6.0 or better installed. I also noticed the game has been a bit modified for the fact that the movement is smoother for the characters. (looking to move at 60 FPS, something that can't be seen in the video however I'm pretty sure everyone that has seen a video or played the game can notice movement is A LOT more fast than previously on the PSP) The still images that appear in the game are rendered eiher in HD or in retinal display, since the iPhone can manage that. The text has been changed in this version, I don't know if that is because it was limited on something, the text may have been hard to read, or what... but it's pretty noticeable when you start it up.
Finally, there is an achievement system in the game as well, which builds up kinda like Walking Dead in the fact that you get them for completing chapters... however at the same time you need to get certain endings to unlock certain Extra Chapters which adds a bit of toughness to it you could say. Also, there is a "Collect all Name Tags" achievement which... is the achievement that has me baffled a little because anyone that has tried collecting all the Name Tags in the original game knows there is absolutely no way to get every name tag due to a glitch in the game that rendered one impossible to get. So, is that name tag actually fixed in this version of the game? Or is the achievement actually impossible to get... I'll find out either in this playthrough, or out of it since that's something that I find rather interesting since it is a glitch that has been known about since I believe the PC rendition of Corpse Party: Blood Covered in Japan.
Now... one other thing, my original Corpse Party series was age restricted, by me because I was just starting Youtube out, just got the "shows" function on the channel and yeah... something I don't even use anymore because it isn't worth it IMO. However, the playthrough had no voices in the game, only mine and after playing through and getting chills just from playing Book of Shadows (which actually DOES give me chills at some points of continuing that playthrough) so... if people REALLY want me to turn the voices off for this, I will. However... expect me to not be as frightened as with the voices on because... while the VA's are Japanese speaking... they can be rather good and their blood curdling screams can be rather terrifyingly good.
Anyways though, expect this to pick up on the Monday/Tuesday midnight hour and continue from there.
