Using Dark Knight to fight against the Despair Advent boss.

The fight itself with how I played involved a lot of soul shielding, taking advantage of my build to recover break, switching jobs while one break gauge was recovering, and then using Dimension Bringer as an emergency or during a bigger opening for the boss.

But the game will still very much want players to have a full set of relics / blue artifacts that are blessing 70%~150%, and then fused together to have a moderate build going. Where my target stats through trial and error suggests closer to 220+ on the medium end. 160+ on the lower end such as 160 Stamina and Spirit if looking to take a traditional hit. Preferably with mitigation.

I also had a lot more pieces that I could have fused from just holding onto gear instead of leaving auto-dismantle on before the build is assembled. Would recommend turning that off while you're getting ready to assemble a build to have a healthy selection of gear to fuse from. Fuse being the process of transferring job affinities and gear effects over to other gear on the same slot.

------
As for the build itself, just for reference, but not meant to copied specifically to clear the fight without Extra Mode:

Dark Knight's job action, Soul Eater, favoring Intellect and high max HP to deal more dark damage.

The Intellect investment also resulting in more MP generated with normal attacks.

With the excess MP, using the Runic Protection command to convert incoming damage into MP loss. The greater the Improved Effect: Runic Protection on the activating job and the max HP + mitigation on your current job, the less MP lost.

Decided to go with Monk 400% to get even more HP to help with Soul Eater's damage and Runic Protection's HP to MP consumption.

Grabbing Hunter 400% to get a flat amount of MP per attack.

Pugilist 600% to reduce the MP cost of knuckle combo abilities by half, getting access to more knuckle combo abilities, and also the extra 40% that comes from Pugilist 400% (even if the UI does not reflect the specific numbers).

A way to refill break gauge such as Berserker 120%.

Increasing more mitigation, so Berserker 250% for Protect and Shell when near death. With Dark Knight 400% from my master points, I'm also always near death. Specific to Berserker 250%, I put that on my weapon since it could reliably get 250% without perfect job affinities.

And since I soul shield a lot, Black Mage 600% to get Intellect with soul shield, Bahamut primary blessing to get all stats with soul shield, and then Assassin 120% to reduce soul shield costs. Ideally. With Gilgamesh accessories, I probably would have gone for the Onion Gauntlets to refresh buff durations with each soul shield.

Gear: Ideally aiming for all Ramuh to get more Intellect across the board, but threw on whatever I had that was 100% or higher for now. Damage Dealt: Knuckle Combo Ability, Damage Dealt: Soul Eater, Improved Effect: Runic Protection on at least the activating job, Intellect, then enough mitigation so that Runic Protection doesn't completely get destroyed. So some Stamina, Spirit, and Near Death Damage Taken for now. This leaves the issue for status ailments, but there are 79ish floors to figure that part out.

My brain is fluff. Please see the end of the video for master points.
