Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Das was one of the few in the Indian National Congress who consistently opposed Gandhi's Khilafat obsession.
Yet he has been portrayed as an enthusiastic collaborator in Gandhi's fatal Khilafat program in recent harangues against Subhas Chandra Bose.
It was Gandhi loyalists who sidelined the staunch Hindu nationalist Bipin Chandra Pal and forced his exit from the Congress, because Pal was a very clear and vocal critic of Gandhi, and referred to him on one occasion as a “papal autocrat”.
Chittaranjan Das belonged to this group in the Congress that opposed the Gandhian clique. Yet Das is portrayed as a Muslim appeaser along Gandhian lines.
These and several such arrant falsities against Chittaranjan Das, and by implication his protégé Subhas Chandra Bose, are brought out in this video which gives a factual representation of the characters and happenings in those times.
