i would like to point out a post from a riot employee about the way yo earn skulls and i still think it is silly because a large chunk of them come from daily rewards and you get a large boost of 2000 skulls for winning with some heroes but after that back to the grind.
You'll get skulls for each game (let's call it 40 each) - 160 skulls.
You'll probably get a chest - 150 skulls.
You'll probably get a daily first win - 250 skulls.
You'll complete the quest - 400 skulls.
With a 50% win rate, you need 10 games to achieve either the 5 victories or (after earning this) the 10 victories reward on either hero. That reward is 2000 skulls, so divide the 10 games needed to earn it into that -- 200 skulls per game. And you're playing 4 of those here, so 4 x 200 = 800 skulls. -mother
