CPT low power consumption reference design http://www.netbooknews.com The display is the largest power hog in any mobile computing device. Battery technology doesn't seem to be improving so it's up to display's to start using less power. At Display Taiwan 2011 CPT shows of a 15.6" low power consumption reference design that's running at around 40% less power consumption but with identical brightness and quality. Luckly you can see it to believe it since they are running a side by side comparison. The reference design features a 1366 x 768 resolution display with a contrast ratio of 600:1 and a brightness of 220 cdm2.
