Apologies the resources were being pulled from my ship and not the storage chest! However, it's still a useful spot for crafting. Simply "take all" resources from the storage, craft what you need, then store all resources afterwards. Not as seamless, but it's still a decent workaround.

Over encumbered? Ship's cargo hold full? Don't fret! Near the start of the game you gain access to The Lodge on Jemison. In the basement you'll find all 5 crafting stations and unlimited storage. Yes you heard that right, unlimited storage! Just haul your encumbered butt over to The Lodge and start hording all those precious resources ready for crafting!
