Level Notes
This is the least optimized run so far, for good reason, and I do not intend on improving it.
There is a very unfortunate event that can happen in this level which makes it impossible to get everything. After the final 2D section, there is a stack of 3 Crates (NITRO, Golden Wumpa, Flame) that can get destroyed before you can get anywhere near them because an enemy paths into the NITRO and destroys them. They can get destroyed as far back as the corridor before the Bonus Platform. This means there is a high possibility that you will always finish 35 Wumpa short of the max for seemingly no reason. For the longest time I thought these were just missing Wumpa out of bounds or something, but after a deep-dive I finally found them.
In the aformentioned corridor, you should bring up the HUD so you can keep an eye on the Crate counter, then try your best to get to the Bonus as quickly as you can. If the counter jumps up by 3 before you reach the Bonus, you will need to take a death, but it is pretty much up to luck whether you will make it or not. Once you finish the Bonus, grab the Checkpoint and try to make it through the 2D section as fast as possible. If the Crates are not there by the time you make it, take a death and keep trying!
What is the Max Wumpa Challenge?
Since this game has fixed Wumpa values for each crate, and since the demo originally included Max Wumpa counters for each level, I decided to take on the challenge to try and get every Wumpa in this game.
I'm going to spoil it right now and say it is unfortunately impossible, so the aim will be to get as many as I possibly can. Also because I'm insane, I am going for Perfect Relics and timing how fast I do it, however speedrunning is not the main focus. As I make it to later levels expect runs to become more casual in nature as I don't want to go too crazy lol.
If you know something I have missed and I have not noted it down, please let me know!
Thanks to ADMGHX for looking into the game files for me to find the 40%/60%/80%/100% Wumpa values so I can check that my own findings are correct! In some cases I still found a couple discrepancies but I will go into detail for the relevant levels.
