Thought the controls for the jeep were bad? Why am I asking myself these questions? Ugh! This helicopter backpack thing is a broken, useless piece of rubbish too. I had no idea how to control this damn thing, and rightfully so. After consulting with the instruction manual, up = down, down = up, and forwards and backwards are not controlled by the analog sticks. WHAT THE HELL?! These controls are so backwards! You shouldn't need to look at the manual to be able to play the game. And even when you do know the controls, IT'S STILL HARD!

I messed up my first attempt at the bonus level as well. You need to time the jump just right in order to hit the slot box while it's on TNT. The TNT's blast radius will extend to the switch box below. The switch box needs to be activated or you will not be able to complete the bonus area.
