Run Notes
The bellyflop at the start was intentional to setup the perfect piston cycles at the beginning of the level. Stop in place, do a standing high jump and bellyflop as late as you can, and everything should line up if you can match my movement in the beginning, though that's easier said than done.
When I started this session I had no idea I had so much time to save here. Setting up the perfect cycles at the beginning is everything.
For the first hour of the session I hated this level, I was getting past the gauntlet of enemies and NITROs in the first half of the level once in every 50 attempts, if that. Then something clicked with me: I found the perfect setup and I fixed some movement and all of a sudden it went from one in 50 to probably one in 5 attempts getting to the end, and then I started to really enjoy the level.
I think I could maybe get one cycle ahead of the piston at the very end of the level, but regardless I still think this is one of my best runs in the game.
