Crash Bash: Adventure Part 42: Drain Bash (Gem & Crystal)
5For the last time in a Crate Crush stage, their Gem Challenges have you beat all of your opponents under a strict time limit.
Drain Bash only give you 30 seconds to win. Hope that your luck with this level's weapons runs well.

Drain Bash's Crystal Challenge warns you of opening the special Purple "?" Crates.
As in... if you try to kick it open, you immediately get blown up and die. Of course, the opponents don't have to worry about this.
To get around this, however, you have to pick up and throw the Special Crate, instead. This will safely open it without harming you, though you'd better hope that this extra time spend just to open one of these Crates lead to you getting one of the three weapons.
The Purple "?" Crates themselves also can't be used to hit enemies. It's not like they're ever gonna throw them either, really.
