Besides a massive update with lots of new characters, units and mechanics, it seems like they gave Critter Crash a mode with a weekly rule-set change. I played this twice and both times I had to use Recoleta. I ended up using the same Lushu setup as my first playthrough though I messed up the first few rounds, not realizing that I needed Udimo Yenisei first. With her Udimo you're guaranteed one free Lushu spawn.

I'm still getting used to all the new/tweaked units, though it is very cool that Lushu are way more viable in this Critter Crash revision (it was very, very hard the last time Critter Crash was around).
