Cortex has been captured by the tribal natives of the island, so now Crash has to sneak into the reserve and rescue Cortex. Crash does manage to free Cortex from the totem pole that he's tied to, but the natives then chase after him [Crash] to punish him for trespassing onto private soil.

The Evil Twins' next challenge for Crash and Cortex is to defeat a possessed artifact that happens to be an old statue; their plan to destroy Crash and Cortex fails like their last one did. Cortex then informs Crash that they need to go his arctic laboratory on a remain of the arctic ice caps in order for them to plan to take down the Evil Twins. Cortex is able to get back to his lab easily by warping, but Crash has to take one of the friendlier native's boats in order to get across to the ice cap.
