[Crashday] Busan Speeday FULL RACE
5First race of the Raceday League #8. After a very close qualifying session, I took pole position, ahead of InjectionBalding (IB for short). Right at the start, he took the lead, which he was able to keep until lap 3, where our battle for 1st truly began.
An early pitstop by Aiden allowed him to undercut us, and he took the lead by just a hair in lap 5, when the leading 3 drivers took their stops. From then on, the fight was now 4-way between Aiden, IB, Savo, and myself.
Now halfway through the race, and tensions were high. Aiden's mistake in lap 7 cost him two places, demoting him to 3rd, behind IB and me. However, later that same lap, the two of us would make a slight error too, and Aiden was once again leading.
As we approached the first and only backmarker to be lapped, a controversial incident occoured. Subaru, the backmarker, failed to yield to the 4 leading cars. This resulted in him losing control of his car, and taking me out of the battle for the win.
The finishing order seemed to be set, but in an ambitious move on the last lap, IB collided with Aiden, slowing them both down. Savo took the opportunity, and slipped past his competitors. He only lead the race for 10 seconds, but all that matters is he was leading when the race ended.
The stewards have investigated Subaru's failiure to yield, and IB's collision with Aiden. Subaru was not penalized, because he was already last in the race, and in the overall standings too. However, similar incidents in the future may result in a ban from RDL events.
IB was given 2-second time penalty. Because of this, Aiden was granted 2nd place.
