T-55 Tanks
T-55 tanks are a series of Soviet main battle tanks introduced just as the Second World War ended.
They are very simple to operate compared to Western tanks, and do not require a high level of training or education in their crew members.
Abundance and age together make these tanks cheap and easy to purchase.
While the T-55 is not a match for a modern main battle tank, armor and ammunition upgrades can dramatically improve the old vehicle's performance to the point that it cannot be dismissed on the battlefield.
It is estimated that ISIS has about 30 T-55 tanks, although it is unknown how well the organization can maintain and operate them.
Multiple Rocket Launchers
Pictures surfaced by ISIS supporters and the media displaying the group to have access to the 57 mm UB-16, the 107 mm Type 63, and the 122 mm BM-21.
These systems can fire multiple rockets a second at a range of approximately 13 miles
MiG fighter jets
The ISIS terrorist group may have acquired a few old Soviet-built MiG fighters, according to a Syrian opposition group.
ISIS has managed to acquire three Soviet-built Mikoyan MiG-21 Fish bed and MiG-23 Flogger fighters.
Drones
What might be used for a hobby or to even record video is now being used to drop bombs .
ISIS modifies commercial drones to drop 40mm rifle grenades.
They are flown by the operator over Iraqi troops and the grenade is dropped by electronic command.
There has been reports that ISIS has been using the drones as a diversion to pinpoint the fire of Iraqi forces.
FIM-92 Stinger MANPADs
ISIS fighters acquired a host of American Stinger missiles from ravaged Iraqi basis, according to Fox News.
The Stinger is lightweight and easy to use, and can be operated from the shoulder of a single soldier, making it no small threat.
Iraqi Chemical Weapons
Reports in July said that ISIS had seized an old Iraqi chemical weapons facility just north of Baghdad.
Isis has used weapons like mustard gas, against Kurdish fighters in the Syrian border town of Kobani during their first attempt to capture the town in July.
Chinese HJ-8
Multiple reports have said that ISIS is using the HJ-8 anti-tank missile, a Chinese weapon first built in the early 1980s.
HJ-8s have an operational range of up to 6,000 meters.
HJ-8s are highly effective against armor, bunkers, and fortifications.
