캡콤이 1992년 10월 아케이드(CPS Dash[1] 기판)으로 발매한 벨트스크롤 액션 게임으로 '천지를 먹다(아케이드)'의 후속작. 원작만화 천지를 먹다와는 다른 스토리로 진행한다.
잘 알려지지 않은 사실이지만, 캡콤의 90년대 아케이드 게임을 상징하는 사운드 시스템 'Q사운드'를 최초로 사용한 작품이다.
유비가 제갈량을 얻고 박망파에서 화공을 사용해서 이전, 하후돈을 물리치고 장판파를 거쳐 적벽대전을 치루고 화용도에서 조조와 싸운다는 내용을 다룬다. 실제 역사상 시기상으로는 208년. 역사 게임이라기보다 아케이드 게임이라 그런지 실제 스토리와는 다른 부분이 많은데 일단 오프닝부터 동탁을 유비가 직접 벤걸로 나오는데 역사상 동탁은 왕윤의 계략에 걸려서 여포에게 죽은 걸 생각하면... 거기에 조조가 원소를 이기고 중국 전토의 1/3을 차지한 거 까진 맞는데 갑자기 1/3을 차지하자마자 위왕에 오르질 않나 중국의 1/3을 차지한 시점으로부터 7년 후에 신야로 쳐들어 왔다는데 이러면 조조가 201년에 하북 전체를 차지한 게 되어 역사가 하나도 안 맞는다. 애초에 이 시기에 부하도 아닐 터인 황충과 위연이 플레이어블 캐릭터인 시점에서 이런 걸 따지는 게 무의미할 수도 있지만...
It is a belt-scrolling action game released by Capcom as an arcade (CPS Dash[1] board) in October 1992, and is the sequel to 'Eat Heaven and Earth (Arcade)'. It proceeds with a different story from the original cartoon, Eating Cheonji.
Although it is not well known, it is the first work to use 'Q Sound', a sound system that symbolizes Capcom's 90's arcade games.
It deals with the story of Liu Bi winning Zhuge Liang, defeating Jeon and Xiahoudon by using fire in the Park Mang faction, fighting the Jeokbyeok battle through the Jiang Pan faction, and fighting Cao Cao in Huayong Island. 208 years in actual historical time. Perhaps because it is an arcade game rather than a historical game, there are many parts that are different from the actual story. From the opening, Dong Zhuo is shown as Liu Bi himself, but if you think that Dong Zhuo in history was killed by Wang Yun's scheme and was killed by Lu Pu... It is true that he won and occupied 1/3 of all of China, but as soon as he took 1/3 of China, he suddenly became the King of Wei. It was occupied, so history doesn't match at all. It may be meaningless to discuss these things at the point where Hwangchung and Weiyeon, who should not even be subordinates at this time, are playable characters, but...
하여간 최종적으로 화용도까지 몰아붙인 유비의 장군들이 조조를 잡아 죽이면 천하통일 엔딩, 일부러 놔주면 실제 삼국정립 엔딩, 죽이는데 실패하면 조조의 통일 엔딩이 뜨는 심플한 전개이다.
