Creatures of Aether can get pretty interesting

You play a card and it flips all adjacent enemy cards with lower power level than you to your side, after this the enemy can retake those cards again if there's enough space left and they have enough power. At the end of the game the player with the most tiles wins.
with this come specific tactics like leaving an even amount of takeable sides open so you can re-take a card if your opponent takes it, then comes leaving only the powerful side open so they have to use better cards to actually take it, then you can flank the card they used etc.
Abilities that come into play in this game:
Drums: the first 2 cards played without abilities get buffed by 3, basically both the opponent and you get a buff on a played card unless they have no ability cards.
warhorn: temporarily summon a card without an ability to flip cards, then immediately take it back. that character keeps buffs like from the horn.
Ally (heart icon): make adjacent ally cards of the same element try to flip adjacent cards again. Good for reaching cards that are blocked off on all sides and generally just great with a powerful card.
homefield/terraformer: create elemental boost tiles
Powerup: gain + 1 for every tile and card of that element in a 3x3 square around them.
