3Personal Thoughts:
Tenchu 4 Shadow Assassins is a game that I never played until college. At first, I really disliked it because it was on a console I never owned: the Nintendo Wii. However, as an adult, I have come to appreciate the game for what it is instead of comparing it to what it previously was.
Plot Summary:
In Lord Goda's domain, peace has not yet been fully restored since the events of Tenchu 3 Wrath of Heaven. Lord Gohda calls upon Rikimaru and Ayame to investigate a potential conspiracy to overthrow him.
Game Info:
Tenchu 4 was released in North America as Tenchu: Shadow Assassins, the fourth installment in the main series. In contrast to its predecessors, Shadow Assassins offers a more linear gameplay experience, emphasizing using the shadows to complete missions, hence the name. The game features two playable characters: Rikimaru and Ayame. Notably, this installment removed certain items, such as the grappling hook. It also restricts the players' inventory, limiting them to carrying only three items at a time.
Japan Exclusive:
Tenchu 4 Plus is the enhanced version of Tenchu 4 for the PSP, exclusive to Japan. It introduces several improvements to the game. This version retains all the features present in the North American and European versions, such as the ability to jump on rafters, access to new costumes, and a "restart section" option. It also introduces a multiplayer mode.
