It's been thirteen years since Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon flew into theaters and became the highest grossing foreign language film in US history and now, The Weinstein Company is hoping to strike gold again with a sequel. Production on Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon 2 - The Green Destiny will begin next March in Asia with Yuen Wo Ping taking over directing duties from Ang Lee. Yuen was the fight choreographer on the original film as well as The Matrix trilogy and Kill Bill. In addition to choreographing those films, Yuen has directed films like Iron Monkey and Tai-Chi Master. As for cast, Michelle Yeoh will reprise her role from the original film and will be joined by Donnie Yen as "Silent Wolf". No word yet if any other original cast members will be returning. The sequel is being written by Hidalgo writer John Fusco and will be based off the 5th book of the Crane-Iron Pentalogy. In addition to becoming a surprise international hit, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon earned six Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, and took home the award for Best Foreign Language Film.
