Amazon revealed Crucible today, a free-to-play PvP shooter developed by Relentless Studios, a division of Amazon Games.
The game launches on Steam May 20th and is entirely free-to-play, though I’m not sure just yet how the game will be monetized. I’m looking into this and will update with whatever I find out.
Crucible is a multiplayer third-person hero shooter with a colorful cast of characters. You’ll choose between robots, aliens, humans and a cat. Just watching the trailer (below) it reminds me a little bit of Overwatch mixed with a dash of Destiny 2’s Gambit mode with some battle royale tossed in for good measure. There’s a bit of Anthem here as well, with the hostile alien planet and third-person perspective.
