Cruises Let Down Seafarers During Covid-19
4Loyal seafarer? So was I. Please know that even if your experience is good on ships, that doesn't mean you should try to silence the movement to get proper treatment for ALL seafarers. These companies can accommodate it.
Why is it okay that, when countries are begging for their nationals to return home, cruise ships chose not to send them home? Why is it that, ships dropped people off in foreign countries without pay or access to transport home or housing? Why is it that, SOME NATIONALITIES AND RANKS were "exempt" from ship quarantines and let home, while others from other nationalities, stayed on?
These companies that often have their employees pay to join ships- were not reimbursed for flights, leaving seafarers poorer than before.
Seafarers forced to work during quarantine, even if their contracts would have ended.
